Parents are responsible for escorting their child to and from the classroom. There will be no child able to leave the 3rd floor under the age of 12 without an adult present unless otherwise agreed upon between the instructor and the parent.
Students are expected to arrive 10 minutes before class. This allows time for the child to change shoes and get ready for when the instructor is ready to begin class. This also allows time for the instructor to communicate with the parents about up coming events.
Starting a dance season late or missing numerous classes is discouraged. Children that are repeatedly absent affect the progress of the class and isn't fair to the other students who are dedicated and attend regularly. Attendance is important to build strength and learn technique necessary for the choreography.
We have a very strict no bullying policy. Each student is expected to respect all other students inside the classroom as well as his/her teacher. Each child is given 3 strikes. First infraction the child is talked to. Second infraction the parent gets notified. Third can result in dismissal.
Absolutely no gum, street shoes, water or food inside the studio. There are lockers located just outside the classroom for the students to use. Students must be respectful of the property. If any damage occurs to the lockers, the parents are held responsible to pay and the child will no longer be able to use the lockers.
All students are expected to follow class attire. Absolutely no hair in the face it must be pulled back into a low bun or a ponytail. This is to ensure all safety of our students and to help the child to focus on the dance. No undergarments are to be worn underneath leotards.
Every year there will be a dance recital to end the season. There will be reserved seating to this event. The tickets will cost $10.00 each.
Your child's picture may be placed on social media through out the dance season. If you wish to not have a picture of your child placed on any form of social media you must inform Mrs. Cait about your decision to respect your privacy.
Cancellations due to weather will be reported through email and automated phone calls. You can also check facebook for updates. If the Allegany school closes due to weather, the studio will automatically close. There are 3 cancellation days allowed in our dance season. If for any reason in a season there is a need for more than 3, there will be scheduled make up classes.
Family / Friends are allowed to come and watch the class during visitors week. Dates will be announced one the dance season begins.
